We coordinated a performance for the Three Wise Men parade in Formentera
We embellish the night of the Wise Men in Formentera with the show ‘Sabor,’ by the Catalan company Sound de Secà For such a special night, from Sa Xerxa de Teatre, we coordinated this activity thanks to the commission from the Consell Insular de Formentera and the Association of the Three Wise Men of the island The itinerant performances –interpreted by 9 actors– toured the Port de la Savina, Sant Francesc, and Sant Ferran to accompany the little ones on such a special evening
Some characters appear spontaneously in your city to lead the audience on a journey full of energy, madness, and vitality. They create a dialogue through rhythm with the spectator, where the contagion is explosive and imminent. A street animation where percussion, dance, and improvisation are fundamental elements. Sabor is alive and unique in every performance!
Despite the challenging weather conditions, the performances unfolded as planned. Our co-artistic director, Àngela Jaume, attended all three performances of Sabor – at Port de la Savina, Sant Francesc, and Sant Ferran – and tells us that they were able to proceed thanks to the professionalism of the Sound de Secà company. A series of unforeseen events occurred that did not affect the excitement and fun for the children on the most anticipated night of the year. The Three Wise Men couldn’t arrive by boat at La Savina due to the bad weather, as planned, but suddenly emerged from a sailboat moored in the harbor, surprising the little ones. Àngela Jaume also tells us that the Sant Francesc parade was beautiful: it arrived at the Church in darkness accompanied by fireworks and the improvisation of the Sabor show. To conclude, the wind in Sant Ferran couldn’t stop the parade, and, as planned, the actors went to meet the Three Wise Men to accompany them to the Church.
The Sound de Secà company is characterized by the positive energy, vitality, and above all, the humanity they manage to convey with their collective performances, such as Sabor. They work with music, percussion, stage language, voice, and movement to offer the youngest transformative shows and experiences that promote the values of justice and inclusion.
