Here’s everything you need to know as a professional at the Fira of Vilafranca
The Fira de Teatre Infantil i Juvenil de les Illes Balears de Sa Xerxa has already become the must-visit event in October for all professionals in the performing arts sector. Moreover, this year we have had the collaboration of Ucinquanta, who have assisted Jaume Gomila and Aina Quintana with the production of these PRO Sessions, so you won’t miss any professional activity! You probably already know the benefits of getting accredited at FIET, how to register, and the main activities we organize each year for you. Even so, we have prepared a brief summary of all these issues to make it even easier for you to attend on October 17, 18, 19, and 20 in Vilafranca! To start with, attending the Fira as an accredited professional includes all these benefits:
- Registered individuals will have free tickets (a maximum of one ticket per registered person for each show).
- Free access to all professional activities (except for the lunches on Thursday 17 and Friday 18).
- Accommodation: the homes of the collaborating families in the town are offered to professionals who are not residents of Mallorca, subject to prior reservation and availability, and in order of registration.
- Meals: includes the dinner on Thursday 17 and the lunch on Saturday 19 for everyone, and daily breakfast for professionals not residing in Mallorca.
- Meals can be reserved separately: lunches on the 17th, 18th, and 20th, and dinners on the 16th, 18th, 19th, and 20th of October at €12 each meal.
- List of registered professionals, to keep track of your fellow professionals attending and to make the necessary connections.

With all this, the highlight of FIET for professionals will be the activities. On Thursday, we will start the day talking about dance, at the 10 a.m. meeting “Còmplices en dansa,” with Cesc Casadesús, Roger Fernández from Agitart, and Miquel Àngel Raió from the Teatre Principal d’Inca. Then, at 12 p.m., we will participate in the COFAE workshop “Quan arriba el silenci,” about stage language and creation processes, with Maria Muñoz and Pep Ramis from MAL PELO. After lunch, at 4:30 p.m., we can enjoy the work-in-progress sessions of “Dues ales,” by the company Farrés Brothers, and “Híbrid,” by Tiramilles Circ, followed by a post-show debate moderated by Ucinquanta. At 7 p.m., we will turn our attention to the younger ones, with the “Trobada Z,” a closed-door meeting where all young groups can reflect on how to break age barriers in the performing arts. On Thursday, we will have dinner together, as the fee includes this meal, and at 11 p.m., we will participate in the informal session by the Col·lectiu Güllis Això no és un club PRO. Sessió 1.
On Friday, October 18, we will start the day with the 10 a.m. meeting CERCANT L’EQUILIBRI. Arts de carrer i circ: Arts escèniques en majúscula, with Cristina Cazorla from Fira Trapezi, Marylène Albentosa from Escalante Centre Teatral, and Tià Jordà from Circ Bover and Circaire. At 12 p.m., we will enjoy the Project Market, focused on proposals in the initial phase of the creative process. Electrico 28, Ramon Molins, Txema Muñoz, La Baldufa, Toti Toronell, La Mecànica, and La impaciència will attend. Throughout the afternoon, we can attend the usual FIET performances and end the day at 11 p.m. with the second session ofAixò no és un club PRO. We invite you to enjoy the usual performances of the Fira de Teatre de Vilafranca on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 of October and also the professional lunch on Saturday, which is included in the fee.
At Sa Xerxa, we know the importance of attending the PRO Sessions of the various performing arts fairs, as they are the place to meet fellow professionals and establish connections with them that often lead to new projects, collaborations, and even friendships.
